Seeing Yourself as God Made You

Ministry assessments, like our own personal assessments, should begin with our strengths. We generally see our strengths more easily than we see our weaknesses. The danger is many times we think we are stronger is areas than we really are.

Romans 12:3 gives a clear direction and warning in this area when it states, For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. Essentially the Apostle Paul encourages us not think more highly nor too low of ourselves. The challenge is to discover a balanced view of our strengths based on understanding how God has designed us individually.

Biblically Balanced Ministries often uses a SWOT process when consulting churches and/or coaching pastors. This process begins with identifying our strengths. If you would like to follow an example of the SWOT process follow the link here.
